In case of classic, deep tooth decays, when the decay has entered the pulp, the root canal must be treated.
Yet, this new material makes it possible to avoid endodontic therapy.
If the dental pulp inflammation has not yet developed its typical symptoms, but an X-ray scan already indicates an advanced phase, we apply a special material to the decayed lesion. This material has a high mineral content (e.g.: fluoride, strontium etc.), which restructures and mineralizes the tooth defect and re-transforms the softened dentine into hard tissue. This special remains in the tooth for a year, following which we can establish with certainty that the tooth remained vital.
During this period, the filling behaves like a living tissue, and can absorb minerals even from the toothpaste to transmit them continuously to the tooth.
